Independence Travel Training
Your guide to safe and confident travel
Our Independence Travel Training program offers:
- Training on how to ride STA (route planning, fares and safety)
- Group trainings for organizations or friend groups (anywhere you choose)
- Ongoing support, so you can travel with confidence
- Individualized training plans for all learning styles
Let us show you how to use Spokane’s bus system so you can travel safely and independently—anytime, anywhere. Using public transit can save up to 94% compared to the cost of owning and operating a car, while also reducing your carbon footprint by up to 55%. It can even become part of your family routine—helping teens build independence and prepare for college life. Public transit is also one of the safest ways to travel—people can reduce their risk of being in an accident by more than 90% compared to driving.
